Our 2 day courses are held on weekends on a very scenic, private sheep station, its history dating back to the early 1850’s. By combining a safe and responsible approach to training with the beauty of the Australian countryside and bush, we have created a truly unique learning experience.
Our courses are a structured learning program with theoretical and practical learning sessions, they are flexible in their application and provide the trainee with all the necessary skills required for off road driving. Our courses cater for participants with varying levels of prior experience.
The Basic Course Covers
SRODRV001B Drive & Recover a 4WD Vehicle
SROODR002A Plan Outdoor recreation Activities
- 4WD driving techniques in different terrain
- Conduct routine maintenance checks
- General radio communication & convoy procedures
- Basic recovery techniques, stall/start recovery
- Steep ascents/descents & water crossings
- Identify terrain, track conditions and obstacles
- Trip preparation and safety issues
- Environmental issues & low impact camping

The Advanced Course Covers
SRODRV002B Drive a 4WD vehicle in difficult terrain using advanced techniques
SRODRV003B Recover a 4WD vehicle using advanced techniques
If you wish to participate in the advanced course please be advised that you need to demonstrate competence in SRODRV001B/SROODR002A as a pre-requisite.

Dates for Advanced Training 2008
2-3 Feb; 12-13 Apr; 28-29 Jun; 23-24 Aug; 18-19 Oct; 6-7 Dec.



Course Fee:
$405.00 one person training
$450.00 one person training and one accompanying person not training
$475.00 up to two persons training using the same vehicle.
Prices include meals from Saturday morning through to Sunday lunchtime, camping for 2 nights (own camping gear), tuition, training guide & statement of attainment.
Additional Visitors:
Children under 8 years are free, 8-16 $40 per child per weekend; additional visitors over 16 years, $60 (if camping).
Meet us:
Friday night 7pm at MacDonalds carpark in Goulburn or Saturday morning 8.30am at the property.
Accommodation:
Shearers’ Quarters $30.00 per person, per night. The Shearers’ Quarters provide basic accommodation with 2 single beds in each of the five rooms available there are communal showers and toilets.
Trailers/Caravans
A surcharge of $25 per night applies if you wish to stay in your own trailer or caravan, however we are unable to supply power. We apologise for the inconvenience.



4WD Club Training:
Many 4WD clubs are opting for expert advice when it comes to training members, some clubs realise that there is not always the expertise within their ranks to train new members. Aussie Offroad can supply Nationally Recognised driver training for large or small groups at very competitive prices.
